Teaching Practice
TEACHING PRACTICE ---------- Teaching demands knowledge as well as skill. Skill development in any field demands practice. As such, practice cannot be substituted for anything in teaching. We understand that knowledge of subject is important but skill is all the more important. We may not teach everything, but whatever little we teach it should be taught with effectiveness.

Education is context specific and content dependent. Context refers to the settings or surroundings in which education takes place. A student teacher is faced with the exciting but challenging task of assimilating a variety of context very rapidly when embarking upon teaching practice.

A teacher should possess several areas of expertise:
  • Academic subject knowledge;
  • Pedagogical knowledge;
  • Effective interpersonal behavior;
  • Enthusiasm and motivating skills;
  • Understanding of social relationships in schools and classrooms.
  • Skill for developing curricula and schemes of work;
  • Organizational skills;
  • Understanding of how students learn;
  • Awareness of current trends of the subject and teaching of the subject;
  • Management skills: learning, communication and monitoring;
  • Skills in assessment, education and record keeping.
The effective teacher requires skills in the field of organization, presentation, analysis, synthesis, assessment management and evaluation. The effective teachers are businesslike; effective in interpersonal relationships(being neither too focused in relationships nor uncaring about relationships) task oriented and academically focused, careful with respect to the quantity and pace of the lesson, effective in explaining, instructing and questioning ; effective in setting and building on home work; and clear in their communication of expectations and expected learning outcomes. Such teachers are adapt at motivating students , communicating objectives providing guidance, promoting the transfer of learning, providing opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning , and giving feedback to improve learning. They employ a range of teaching and learning strategies, including discussions; activity based and experiential learning, exposition and explanation; questioning, peer group teaching, ICT based learning; games and simulations; whole class interactive teaching; individual and cooperative group work. The Secondary school teachers have to develop their skills as facilitators, not just instructors or did acts.

There are several practical skills that a student teacher will need to develop. The practice of teaching provides student teachers with an opportunity to develop appropriate skills for classroom interaction. This lesson plan book sets the contemporary scene for daily teaching and learning in this broader context.

The College of Education takes due care as the course it is dealing with is more practical than theoretical. Practice is the hallmark of B.Ed. course and the college is well prepared to enable students to master this skill.

They are decorative designs on floors of living rooms and courtyards during Hindu festivals and are meant as sacred welcoming area for the deities.[1] The ancient symbols have been passed on through the ages, from each generation to the one that followed, thus keeping both the art form and the tradition alive

Basant Panchami--------- Basant Panchami, the Festival of Spring, is celebrated mainly , during February-March. It is celebrated at the end of winter to welcome spring. 'Basant Ritu' means the spring season in Hindi. During this season the mustard fields are in full bloom, giving the impression of yellow carpets laid out on acres of land. People welcome this change of season by wearing yellow clothes, flying kites and having fun. A puja (prayer) is held in the house, teeka applied on the deity as well as everyone's forehead.

Basant Panchami
Kite flying is the major and most colorful event of this festival. The sky is covered with different colorful fighter kites. The kites are of medium size normally from 1 feet to 4 feet across and made of paper on a frame of bamboo strips.
'Yellow' is the color of the festival and so it dominates everywhere i.e. in the kites, in the clothes. There are kites in the sky not only in daytime but also in night. People use searchlights in the night to fly the kites. All the family members gather at one single place, many times on the rooftops, and celebrate this festival.
